Black Jack can be described as an "unregistered" doctor and surgeon. He has a mysterious past and persona. Pinoka is his assistant who is infatuated with him. Black Jack is a genius and deals with cases that nobody else will due to their danger or the skills they require. As long as a patient has money- he can save their lives.
