Alpaca Farming In County Clare

A new trend is taking place amongst the hip farmers of the fertile coastal soils of Clare. Home to the Cliffs of Moher and now welcoming the creature that is a kind of South American sheep, the alpaca also is a part of the biological family of Camelidae which includes camel and llamas .

The needs of the wool industry can be unrelenting, at the moment a sweater made from alpaca wool goes for over 200e, which is a sexy tog value. Alpacas themselves cost between 3,000 and 4,000 euro.

Driving across the cliffs that stretch like giant elephant chunks of landmass. The surreal and enchanting sight of the alpaca may soon be joined by the crocodile. Crocodile farms have started in England, so expect them to be the next trending exotic animal here.
